Introduction
In this article, we will be discussing VIP Membership lists.
The VIP Paid Membership list settings are in the Member List tab > Manage Member Lists sub-tab. If this setting is not enabled, and you wish to offer a membership program, please contact your administrator.
Member List Grid
In a membership program, a VIP list is commonly used for individuals who pay a membership fee to access special perks and incentives within the business. This type of program allows members to upgrade their membership and receive additional rewards.
To create a VIP list, you can either press the "New Record" button or edit the existing list in your program by navigating to the action tab, choosing "edit," or clicking the hyperlink on the list name.
Create Member List - List Details
When you click the New Record button, fill in the necessary details for the List Details, and then proceed to the Paid VIP Reward Values Section.
NOTE:
- List Name - The name of the list as it will appear both in the control panel and on your subscription forms.
Member Profile Status Name - This is the visible name in the member’s profile.
SMS Shortcode Keyword - While checking for keyword availability, be sure to use the same shortcode number associated with the reward program. When an end user texts this Shortcode Keyword to the Shortcode Number associated with the reward program, the end user is added to this Member list. End users cannot be added to more than one Member List inside a given reward program. For tracking purposes, it is a good idea to use the same Shortcode Keyword as Member List name, or at least include the Shortcode Keyword in the Member List name. This field is not mandatory.
List Owners Name - The name of the person who owns this list.
List Owners Email - Emails are sent to this address when someone subscribes or unsubscribes from your Member list.
Notify the List Owner - If this option is selected, the member list owner receives notification email whenever someone subscribes or unsubscribes from this member list. The system check runs every hour and sends a notification on the hour.
- Default Location - This is the default location for the Member list. This location will be used if the My Location Default Fields question is not asked or the user does not select My Location inside their user profile. This location will display on all offers sent to end user.
Paid VIP Reward Values - NON-VIP Level
In order to run the program in the Paid VIP Reward Values Section, you will need to have a member list at the Non-VIP Level. If you do not have one, please create a Non-VIP Level member list first, as it is a requirement for creating a VIP level member list.
NOTE:
- Non-VIP Level - This is the non-VIP membership level Member list. If a member's VIP membership expires, the member will move here.
You can see here that there is a Point Value for the Non-VIP level. This point value will not change as Non-VIP level members are your regular members and will receive the regular point value.
NOTE:
- Point Value - Point Value is the value of bonus points this membership level earns. By default, this value is 1.0. You can increase the point value of a particular Member list level by any amount. For instance, 1.5 would be a 50% reward point bonus over the normal reward point value. In this example, if $1 equals 1 point and a member makes a $10 purchase, they would receive 15 points versus the standard 10 points.
Paid VIP Reward Values - VIP Level
Moving on to a new list, you will want to create our VIP list now that we have the non-VIP level list in place.
If your members join the paid VIP list, they will be able to earn double points. These points will expire after 365 days, but you can also customize the expiration setting to entice your members better to join the VIP list. Additionally, you can assign a list order based on the VIP level to make it easier to prioritize them by placing them at the top.

- List Order - The list order gives the order the Member list displays on the View Member List page.
You can designate VIP members as gold members, or you could assign them a gold-colored identifier so they can be easily recognized when they check into the program. Additionally, 30 days prior to expiration, display the color red to notify members that their program is about to expire and offer them the option to upgrade and extend their membership with an additional payment.
After entering all the necessary details on the list, you can press the Save button to add the VIP Member list to your program.
