Create Member
When creating a new member, you will see a slide-out menu with various settings. On this page, all the fields will be displayed by default. However, in the members list, you can choose which fields should be required, which ones should be displayed but not required, and which ones should be hidden altogether.
The first step when adding a member is to choose the member list. All member lists created inside the program are found here.
NOTE:
- Member List - To get started, please choose a member list to work with. You can also select a member list by double-clicking on an option.
Next, fill out the fields selected in the member list. Depending on the fields required when creating the member list will determine which fields are asked when making the member.
NOTE:
- Passwords must contain a length of 6 to 15 characters.
When entering the Email and SMS number, choose the confirmation status. Typically, confirmed or unconfirmed will be selected. Next, you can add a member to an autoresponder if you have created an autoresponder series.
NOTE:
- Email Status - The confirmation status displays confirmed when double opt in requirements are turned off, or if double opt-in is turned on and an email confirmation link is clicked.
- The confirmed status is a double opt-in process where users confirm their subscription by clicking the link in the confirmation email.
- Unconfirmed status displays when an email has not completed the double opt-in process. The Member may have turned ‘On email messaging in their user profile, or have joined the program using an email kiosk web form, but the Member has not confirmed by double opt-in.
- Unsubscribed status displays when a Member Unsubscribes by clicking an email unsubscribe link or changing their profile status to receive email messaging no longer.
- The bounced status is for those who have been disabled on the Member list because they have had too many messages bounce from their email address or have been detected as a hard bounce.
- Autoresponders - If autoresponders have been created for this Member list, selecting this option would start the autoresponders being sent to these members; otherwise, these members will never receive any of your autoresponders. If you are unsure, leave this option as is.
- SMS Confirmation Status - The confirmation status displays confirmed when double opt in requirements are turned off, or if double opt-in is turned on a a user confirms their mobile number by replying Yes to a text message double opt-in request.
- The confirmed status is a double opt-in process where users confirm their subscription by replying Yes to a text message confirming subscription.
- Unconfirmed status displays when a mobile number has not completed double opt-in. The Member may have texted the short code keyword, or turned ‘On SMS text messaging in their user profile, or have joined the program using a mobile kiosk web form, but the Member has not confirmed by double opt-in.
- Unsubscribed status displays when a Member Unsubscribes by applying STOP or changing their profile status to no longer receive SMS notifications.
- Activity Status - The inactive status is for those Members who have not made a purchase within the timeframe specified when creating the reward program. Inactive members are for tagging and statistical purposes only. Inactive members continue to receive automated & campaign broadcasting.
Next, complete the Reward Information section, or leave it empty. Typically, when a member first joins, these values are zero. However, at times, member points are added. If running a spend tracking program, the Total Check-Ins will say Total Spending. If you would like to add friends' birthdays, to send out offers on their birthdates, do so in the respective section.
NOTE:
- Tier Points – If running a tier-based program, the Total Spent point total equals the Tier Points, i.e., Member spends $10 and point ratio is 1:1, the Tier Points equal 10. If the point ratio is 1:3, the member Tier Points equal 30. For Check-In programs, if a member checks in and the point ratio is 1:1 but receives double points on the check-in, the tier points will equal 1 and member redeemable points will equal 2.
Finally, choose the permissions to allow Email, SMS text, and PUSH messaging. If allowing SMS and making the SMS confirmation status confirmed, an SMS opt-in message will be sent to the user asking them to opt-in. Only when they reply "Yes” will they be allowed to receive SMS text messages.
