Introduction
In this article, we will discuss Managing Surveys.
Managing Surveys can be found by going to the Surveys icon tab > Managed Surveys Subtab.
Manage Surveys Grid
On this page, you will see all created surveys and a check box to delete specific surveys if you no longer wish to have them in your program.
Under the action column, you can edit, delete, export responses, and view the survey. You can also choose to view the results by clicking the eyeglass.
Additionally, you can create a new survey by clicking the "New Record" button and export responses by clicking the export button (next to the New Record button), choosing the appropriate survey, timeframe, and pressing Download Responses.
Create a Survey - Survey Type
When creating a new survey, the first step on this page is to give an internal survey name and title.
Once the title and description is given, you can build a "5 Star Survey" or "Build My Own" from scratch by dragging and dropping the necessary items to the right. If using a 5 star survey, you can ask five questions about 5 given categories. If the default data does not apply to your business, you may ask any question you prefer.
You can also ask questions for positive feedback, negative feedback, or suggestions, which will be organized nicely in the survey results. You may also delete any question you wish.
Survey Completion
When the survey is completed, you can display a pop-up that says, “Thank you for your survey; we value your feedback,” etc.
- Display Thank You Popup - When a member completes the survey, they will be shown the text you type in the fields above. Alternatively, you can redirect them to another page depending on the toggles you choose to use.
If specific rules score on a 5 5-star survey, you can ask the survey taker to leave a review at any site you wish for extra social exposure.
- If these rules score - Use an if/then scenario, based on scoring, to determine what message is displayed. The ‘Then’ message will display if the Category letter rules and above are chosen by the survey taker.
If the rules are NOT all met, we will leave a different type of message, such as "Thank you for your feedback; we value your business, and Thank you for taking a survey," or any message you wish.
Another option is to take them to a particular web page or to the refer-a-friend page. You can also have responses emailed to a given address.
- Display this text as the thank you popup – Text is displayed no matter the survey results.
- If these rules score – Allows you to redirect members to different websites of your choosing.
- Take Them to a Web Page - When a member completes the survey, they will be taken to the web page you type here automatically.
- Take them to a Refer Friend page – Redirects members to the refer a friend page after taking the survey.
- Email Survey Responses? - Would you like to receive an email with the completed survey responses? If so, tick this option and enter your email address in the text box below.
If the link is clicked again after a survey is taken, you can display the text written here. You can also customize the submit button text.
NOTE:
- Error Message - If something goes wrong when trying to save survey responses your members will be shown this error message.
- Submit Button Text - This text will appear on the button at the bottom of the page. Subscribers can click the button when they are done filling out your survey.
Negative Feedback
Negative feedback notifications can be sent if survey scores are below your category limit. In the following example, any score of 3 stars and below will send a notification.
Expiration Date
It is advisable to set an expiration date for surveys. Without an expiration date, members can complete multiple surveys and accumulate a large number of points in a single day. This can lead to biased results and affect the survey's accuracy.
Privacy Settings
You can set privacy settings for the survey, making it visible to all system users, selected groups of users at certain locations, or hidden from all location owners (business owner permissions required).
- Public - The public settings make the survey visible to all location system users in the program.
- Location Private - Location private makes the survey visible to all locations selected.
- Business Private - Enabling business private hides the survey and statistics from users with lower permissions. The setting is used with businesses that privatize content from locations.
Color Settings
You can customize the colors based on your website and member profile themes.
Furthermore, the layout settings allow you to divide the survey into several pages. Breaking up a long survey into multiple pages prevents the respondent from having to scroll through a lengthy list of questions. Instead, a "next" button is provided to navigate to the next page.
These are the settings for title and description colors, button colors, background color, and survey visibility.
Two options are available for sending a survey: inside the member profile wallet or outside the profile wallet.
You can choose the stand-alone color setting here.
- Title Background Color - The color displays at the top of the survey & on the survey completion page. If no color is selected, the survey will use #888 by default on the survey completion page. If no color is selected, the survey will use #f8f8f8 by default on the survey completion page.
- Change Default Logo at Top Right of Survey - You can upload your Image to be displayed at the top right of the survey. Upload a 228x82px logo.
- Change Default Banner at Top of Survey - You can upload your Image to be displayed at the top of the survey.
Preview Survey
When finished, you can preview the survey, which can be found here. When done, press save.
